On the Scene: Maine Maple Sunday sugarhouse hosts 5,000 in one weekend

May 9, 2019

We visit father and son Hollis and Seth Edwards of Eureka Farms in Palmyra, Maine on Maine Maple Sunday on March 25. Incredibly, the 800-tap operation hosted more than 5,000 visitors during the two-day weekend. This is not unusual for sugarhouses in Maine. The event is in its 34th year and the Maine Maple Producers Association does an incredible job promoting the participating operations. Much syrup is sold. And a tremendous amount of planning and hard work go into hosting such a huge amount of visitors to the sugarhouse.
